he World Summit Awards team organized this year’s European Young Innovators Festival, which took place once again in Graz, Austria, and addressed the urgency of current multiple crises facing global society. The event put a special focus on European perspectives and solutions developed by young entrepreneurs.

On the first day, the organizers invited to a get-together on the Murinsel. Afterwards, the City of Graz welcomed the European ESC community in the City Hall and offered a welcome reception and European Lightning Talks to learn more about the City of Graz and to meet the European Young Innovators 2022.

The Twin Transition needs (young) innovators – more than ever before.

The second day was filled with presentations, discussions and workshops on European values, solidarity, climate change and purpose-driven entrepreneurship. The afternoon was dedicated to solutions to these challenges. More than 30 young digital entrepreneurs from Graz, Europe, Asia and Africa presented their concrete local solutions on “Citizen Engagement”, “Health, Wellbeing and Education”, “Climate Change and Environment” and “Inclusion and Equality”.

On the third and last day, international mentor:s gave impulse talks and workshops that supported the skills development of the young participants – be it in scaling, video creation, impact measurement or storytelling. In the afternoon, the participants explored Graz and made contacts during the so-called “Netwalking”.

The grand finale was the award ceremony and closing party at Dom im Berg, where the European Young Innovators, mPreneurs and winners of UniVation 2022 were duly celebrated. Nina Popanton and Adam Montandon hosted the event.
