The white paper “Gaia-X Federation Services (GXFS) White Paper – Gaia-X Ecosystem Kickstarter”, recently published by the Gaia-X Association, gives an overview of the different Federation Services and how they are connected to Gaia-X. It also outlines the orchestration concept and structure of the GXFS project and reflects on the role of Federation Services as an implementation toolbox for the Gaia-X launch.
Furthermore, the key concepts and roles within the GXFS, including those of federations, federators and participants, are explained in more detail. It also defines specific services that will be developed in each of the five GXFS work packages: Identity & Trust, Federated Catalogue, Sovereign Data Exchange, and Compliance and Portal.
