The Publications Office of the European Union is organising the first EU Open Data Days<\/a>. This unique online event will serve as a knowledge hub, bringing the benefits of open data and its reuse to the EU public sector, and through it to people and businesses. Get inspired and discover the latest trends and most innovative solutions!<\/p>\n

Data is a key asset for digital transformation. It is a building material for research and innovation,\u00a0 personalised products and services, powerful new technologies and better decision-making. These translate into solutions to\u00a0societal challenges that can improve and even save people\u2019s lives, as the current pandemic demonstrates. Open data is also freely available to generate value through reuse.<\/p>\n

Speak at EU DataViz 2021<\/b><\/p>\n

The EU Open Data Days organising team are looking for speakers to help shape a highly relevant conference programme. Are you an expert on open data and\/or data visualisation? We encourage you to share your ideas, successful projects and best practices, which can be actionable in the setting of the EU public sector.<\/p>\n

We welcome proposals from all over the world, and from all sectors: academia, private entities, journalists, data visualisation freelancers, EU institutions, national public administrations and more. For more information, visit the\u00a0EU DataViz website<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Compete in EU Datathon 2021<\/b><\/p>\n

Propose your idea for an application built on open data and compete for your share of the prize fund of EUR\u00a099\u00a0000. Demonstrate the value of open data and address a challenge related to the European Commission\u2019 priorities.<\/p>\n

We welcome ideas from data enthusiasts from all around the world. Check\u00a0the rules of the competition<\/span><\/a>\u00a0and to participate, submit your proposal for an application by 21 May 2021\u00a0here<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n

The EU Open Data Days have a particular focus on the EU\u2019s public sector and data enthusiasts.
