Heraklion\/Hanover\/Vienna <\/span><\/em> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">\u2013<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">mock<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">\u2013<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">ups and demonstrators for a European Data <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Market as well as a platform federator<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">are being developed within the H2020 innovation action TRUSTS <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">\u2013<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Trusted Secure Data Sharing Space. The project aims at<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">developing a trustworthy federated platform <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">for personal and non<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">\u2013<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">personal data in Europe.<\/span> <br role=\"presentation\" \/><br role=\"presentation\" \/><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">For several years, numerous initiatives aim a<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">t a market<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">\u2013<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">like handling of a secure and sovereign data <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">exchange. There have already been successes in this regard, such as data platforms or data circles on <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">various topics, from which some are happening within national or domain boundaries. Others, such a<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">s <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">those of <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/old.dataintelligence.at\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">DIO<\/span><\/a> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">(based on Data Market Austria) and those of<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/internationaldataspaces.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">IDSA<\/span><\/a> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">(based on the International Data Spaces <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">standard) aim at cross<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">\u2013<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">domain and cross<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">\u2013<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">bord<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">er data spaces. By applying this standard, the pan<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">\u2013<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">European data ecosystem TRUSTS is primarily intended to deliver technological added value. The first <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">mock<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">\u2013<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">ups for the TRUSTS platform were already created in 2021, the second year of the project.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"fusion-responsive-typography-calculated\" data-fontsize=\"30\" data-lineheight=\"39px\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Platfor<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">m builds on user\u2019s needs <\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">A valuable feature planned for the TRUSTS platform is a powerful dashboard, which is adapted <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">according to the user\u2019s role in the platform. For asset contributors, the dashboard provides useful <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">summative information about their con<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">tributed assets, such as total revenues, best sellers and top <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">rated assets, asset types contributed per category (data assets, applications, services), sales by billing <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">scheme, and tags that the user employs in their contributions. For content consumers, t<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">he home page <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">dashboard aims to suggest content according to the user\u2019s interests (as these have been indicated so <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">far in the platform), promote best<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">\u2013<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">selling and top rated content, but also new and trending content, <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">thus endorsing not only content that is a<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">lready popular but also new and noteworthy content, giving <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">it good chances to become popular itself.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">It is expected that users will be empowered to find what they are looking for, which is a key motivator <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">for becoming loyal users of the platform. At the <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">same time, the platform urges users who can\u2019t find <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">what they are looking for to describe it through a well<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">\u2013<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">structured form, and notifies them when such <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">content becomes available\u201d<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">, says Stavroula Ntoa, technical scientist at<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">the <\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ics.forth.gr\/\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Institute for Computer <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Science at the Foundation for Research and Technology <\/span><\/a><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">\u2013<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Hellas <\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">and technical designer at <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">TRUSTS<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h3 class=\"fusion-responsive-typography-calculated\" data-fontsize=\"30\" data-lineheight=\"39px\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Trustworthy technology <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">\u2013<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">but how?<\/span><\/h3>\n<blockquote><p><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Stavroula Ntoa states: \u201cI think that<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">\u2013<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">as in human relationships <\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">\u2013<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">trust is difficult to be earned and is <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">directly relevant to feel secure, safe, and protected, but most importantly, trust is built upon consistent <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">behavior evidencing one\u2019s trustworthiness\u201d.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">A trusted data market would have<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">to follow the principles of privacy and security by design. It should <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">ensure the anonymization of data, de<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">\u2013<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">anonymization risk analysis, and a secure data exchange <\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">\u2013<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">in <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">which data sovereignty is the key factor for success. The fact that data can be exchang<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">ed without the <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">data owners losing control over their data will be groundbreaking for future challenges with shared Data. At the same time, it should demonstrate its trustworthiness by having established clear rules and procedures, and by giving the option to users to rate content with regard to its quality, thus ensuring transparency.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"fusion-responsive-typography-calculated\" data-fontsize=\"30\" data-lineheight=\"39px\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Strengthening Europe\u2019s economy with data-driven innovations<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">This platform, as an outcome of the TRUSTS project, is envisioned to constitute the stepping stone for the deployment of a European federated data market, which citizens can trust. For this additional trials are needed which will be performed in the further course of the project.
